SOS - Website ASP Pages Not Loading - http/1.1 500 Server Error

I am very wet behind the ears with IIS so please bear with me. I am running IIS6 on 2003. I have a domain on the server with a dedicated IP address. All has been fine up until I just tried to add an ftp access for this client.

Here is what I did. I opened IIS and chose to create a new FTP site. I went through the wizard guessing at most options, choosing that client's IP for the ftp ip address. When i was all done I was able to open the ftp from Windows Explorer but it didn't ask me for user name or password. Concerned at this I then deleted the ftp site.

NOw when I go to the site and try to pull up any .asp page I get this on the page -

http/1.1 500 Server Error

Can someone please tell me how to correct this?

First turn off "show friendly http errors" setting in your IE and see what the real error message is.
