SSI and IIS
Is there any way of getting IIS to return only the current filename (no path) using SSI?
<!--#echo var="DOCUMENT_NAME" --> does it in Apache, but IIS outputs the entire file system path of the file (C:\...). Any ideas?

Hmm. Switch to an Apache webserver? You might try DOCUMENT_URI instead of filename. It will give a virtual path, but that's better than what you're getting. Can you use PHP? That would be a better way to serve up environmental variables—especially since you could parse the string and deliver exactly the info you want.
Considering the security issues, switching to Apache should be a goal. cheers, gary

Oh, I use Apache, and PHP for that matter, but the person I'm doing this for doesn't.
We did figure out a totally different way of doing things that doesn't require this though. So my question's kind of uh, obsolete now. I've decided today that I'll never use IIS again. |
