System Wipe, Front Page Extensions borked!
Greetings all,
Firstly, let me explain what happened. Some hacker person ( most likely someone that I reallly realllly pissed off on irc ) decided to destroy my website, OR my webhost fuxored up and decided to think of a more original excuse... either of the two is believable. Well since the time of the wipe, I haven't been able to view the reports and statistics through FrontPage ( or on the web through the xml files that the frontpage extensions actually effect ). Now as my hosting providor has explained to me. FrontPage extensions are turned on. And I have personally gone to the FrontPage --> Tools --> Server --> Administration... and made sure that webstats are to be created on a daily basis, however, none of the stats seem to be being created, nor does it send out an email when said statistics are created. I was wondering if anyone could make a suggestion as to what is going on with my server. Or how I could change it such that the stats software is working again. Regards, and TIA

Have you checked in the IIS management console that logging is enabled?

Yes, I have. Everything is set up properly, I deleted my local and uploaded cache... I use dreamweaver, not FrontPage, so I didn't have those vti_ whatever folders all over the place any more... but I've started a new web and uploaded back and forth through Frontpage so those files and such are back... but the server doesn't seem to want to kick them in gear...
Also, from FrontPage I can access the logging options ( the stats creation that is ) I have it turned on, and for testing purposes I set it to create stats and email them to me @12 pm daily, but it doesn't want to work it seems... In case you were wondering, I'm using w3cExtended Log Format... Thanks for the reply, 1beb |

Are log files being generated on the server, have you looked at the raw logs. They should be somewhere under the windows\system32 folders
I don't know anything about FP logging. |

Yes, the system logs are being generated in raw format ( as I mentioned before w3c Extended Log Format ) Those are the raw logs that I was reffering to.
The only reason it even interests me to have stats is so that I can look at the keywords that people are using to hit me with... but c'est la vie... I guess I'll have to find thrid party software to do it instead of just being able to log on to my ftp, or start up frontpage... Thanks for your help, |
