Trouble after installing IIS 5.1

Hello all,

I have just installed IIS5.1 on my Win XP SP2 system. Leaving all problems behind like not found dlls while installing in finally got a running instance of IIS Web server.
I manually moved the C:/Inetpub to D:/Inetpub - of course MS didn't ask where I like to have it. I also changed the registry entries accordingly.

Now when i try to access the web root from IE I allways get 404 error - and no entry in the log file (better: no logfile yet). So I am a little confused and need some hints how to proceed.
BTW no entries in the event log.

Regards,
SF

Sounds like your installation isn't correct. I'd say start over, none of what you described happens with a normal install.

You can easily change the storage folder for your default website, or simply create a new virtual directory with the storage where you want it.
