Using IIS Manager

After setup a website does IIS have something to do when I want publish my website. I need to know if IIS is important or not when you setup a server or what is that for.

Right click the folder and select Properties. Go to the "web sharing" tab and select "Share this Folder". This will create the virtual directory for your website. Look further into IIS settings to set this up how you want it. Lots of stuff to look into from here...
