Viewing Webpage from remote computers on same network (IIS)
Hello,
For 2 days now, I've been trying to get my website on our LAN. I've designed an E-Commerce website that connects to SQL Server 2000 using classic ASP. I'm running Win XP with IIS 5.1 and SQL Server 2000 all on the same machine. I'm wanting other machines on the network to be able to view my website. I've got my Authentication Methods set to "Enable anonymous access". I'm using an account located on our server. This account also is set up to have access in the Sql database. I'm able to view everything just fine on my machine. The path I'm using is: http://<servername>/pages/home.asp For some reason, all other machines on the network are not able to view the website. BTW, I ping fine from a remote computer to my machine. Thanks for all the help! |

What happens if you use the IP address ? eg: http://192.168.0.6/pages/home.asp ? Also, your original post is a bit confusing regarding where the website pages are stored. The website is on the SERVER yes ? or is it on your XP local machine ? If the website is on your loca machine you will need to check the XP firewall is not blocking attempts to access your website. |

Sorry about the confusion.
My website files are stored in wwwroot on my local machine. The firewall did it. I appreciate your help. ![]() |
