Virtual Directory Permission Problem

Hi Everyone,

Im running a 2003 server and recently setup a website which i wanted to secure off. So i set a server side account and went to IIS and removed Internet guest account and other accounts to this directory so only the specific user could access it.

Everything went fine except now when i add a new website (virtual directory) the default permissions don't come up. Only the 1 account. So i have to manually add the Internet accounts and aspnet accounts ect...

How do i restore the permissions back to default so it adds my basic accounts that are need for websites automatically, so i don't need to do it manually everytime i setup a website.

Thanks

Tim

Best I can suggest is look around in the IIS mmc. Maybe you managed to change some default values instead of just one directory settings.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the reply. I manage to fix my issue by restarting IISadmin service. I don't know why, but it seems IIS cache permission setup and retains until services is restarted.

Cheers Tim
