Web-Server Suite with IIS HELP QUICK

ok i downloaded this:

i have XP pro sp2 with IIS


im basically trying to make a PHP enviroment so i can run my PHP files! this package says its ready to be used so no configurations needed..etc.. do i even need IIS for this? does apache make the server?

i put my files in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot for IIS but when i try and run my PHP files it prompts me to download them.. agh something is wrong.. do i need to put them in an apached folder instead?

I think you're missing some of the basic understanding of PHP on windows. Try checking in on the php website and review some of the documentation for php on windows.

You need IIS if you want to use PHP with IIS, if you want to use a different web server then you don't need IIS.
