IIS comes with Windows, at least certain versions of Windows. If you have Windows 2000 or 2003 server, you'll have a copy of IIS 5 or 6. Also, 2000 Pro and XP Pro come with a version of IIS which allows you to host one web site only. You can't just buy IIS to install on any OS you want.
If you don't have any of these, Personal Web Server is the cut down version which shipped with Windows 98/Me I think. |

Expanding a bit more on Edwins info-
Code:
IIS6 Windows 2003 IIS5.1 XP Pro IIS5.0 Windows 2000 Server or Pro IIS4.0 NT4 with the Windows NT Option Pack PWS4 NT4 workstation, also from the NT Option Pack IIS3.0 NT4. Not recommended, it's an early flakey version PWS4 Windows ME (unsupported), W98. From W98CD or NT Option Pack Even though it's called the Windows NT Option Pack, you can install IIS/PWS on any W9x/Me and NT4 versions of Windows. Don't try to install this version on W2K/XP/2003. PWS is not a supported option on Me but generally it works.
