Windows Media Services 9 Push Auth

Hi

I have a dedicated 2k3 standard server which I'm setting up for live audio applications. I'm in a testing phase and I've encountered a problem that I can't solve.

I can successfully connect to a push publish point if WMS ACL authentication is disabled. But I need to secure my publishing points, when I enable ACL at server AND point level with a user with read/write/create permissions my encoder will not authenticate. I have tried disabling my 2k3 firewall, used 3 different WM9 encoding applications from my local PC and tried creating a pub point and connecting to a existing one to no avail.

I'm stuck, I know that if I have data centre edition I could use digest authentication but I don't have a data centre license.

Any help / ideas appreciated.

not to worry... after 2 days I've discovered that my encoders are caching passwords making auth testing rather hard.
