Www. and non www. have a hard time settling down.
I have finally completed.. (I think) the DNS set up of a new windows 2008 r2 server. I have set it to operate as a DNS server without the active directory installed at all.
The actual domain name that is set as the server is resolving to its own site at the root inet/wwwroot/. seems ok..
I have pointed 2 additional domains to the server.
the new points from godaddy is adsentry.net and information-biz.com
A weird resolution is going on as follows:
all 3 domains have the a record for www. and non www. in place.
When using the browser and navigating to:
adsentry.net -> it resolves to the root.....wwwroot
www.adsentry.net -> resolves correctly to its own site.
information-biz.com -> resolves correctly to its own site.
www.information-biz.com -> resolves to the root.. wwwroot
Is this strange or what... it comes in different on each site..
the nameserver is business-server-virginia.com and resolves to the root as it is pointed in both cases... in other words works just fine..
business-server-virginia.com -> resolves to root as it should.
www.business-server-virginia.com -> resolves to root = ok
Currently I have one IP for both ns1 and ns2 as I do not have another IP but surely this cannot be the cause... can it..
Thanks for any suggestions..

The weekend coming, it may take a little longer to receive responses... so have a look at the Microsoft IIS site in the meantime. See if that may be able to help you any...

Verify your IIS host header settings, and also re-check your dns settings.
