    Problem in IIS 5.1

    Hi,
I have developed a web application in .net framework 2.0 in windows 7 machine. I deployed it in IIS 7 of Windows 7 machine, I am able to work with my application .The client is using Windows XP so I have hosted the application in IIS 5.1 in windows XP machine. While browsing the application I am able to see only the text present in the application but the controls like textbox, checkbox etc. are not displayed. Can u please suggest a solution?

Have you installed the NET framework on the XP machines? NET isn't installed by default. In addition, there are many other differences in capabilities between IIS5.1 on XP and IIS7 on Win7

NO .I didnt install the framework seperately. But I can see the .netframework v2.0.50727 ,v1.1.4322 ,v1.0.3705 ,v4.0.30319 present inside the path C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ .From today I am not able to see the application ,while browsing it shows the error failed to access IIS metabase

    HI ,
My problem get resolved by the following steps

    Configuring IIS for the website:
    1) Open command prompt (Run ->cmd)
    2) Change the directory to C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
    3) Type 'iisreset /stop'. This will stop IIS. (Make sure Visual Studio is not open while keying in this command)
    4) Now type 'aspnet_regiis -i'. Wait for the installation to complete.
    5) Now type 'aspnet_regiis -c'.
    6) Now type 'aspnet_regiis -ga aspnet' .
    7) Finally type 'iisreset /start'. This will start the IIS .

Thanks for posting your solution. Do you have a link to a MS KB article or something that describes the aspnet_regiis program? Thanks.
