Interested in iPhone development
I have been viewing a course on Udemy (Java for Complete Beginners) and it has really given me a solid foundation in Java. I am mainly interested in Apple iPhone development, and would like to know what aspects from Java would be necessary to know before learning Objective-C. Would I need to purchase a Mac to learn? What should I know from Java before I start to learn Objective-C? Big thanks to all who reply.

Java and Obj-C are completely different animals as far as programming. I'd learn Obj-C specifically if you want to do iOS development. That being said, there are numerous mobile development frameworks out there that allow a person skilled in a language (C#, Lua, JS, etc.) to create mobile apps compatible with all devices. For Obj-C programming you'll need Xcode, etc... so you'll need a Mac.
