Begginer question....
Ill get involved with a JSP project and have some dumb questions about JSP.
What is better, install softwares and develop under Windows or under Linux? Are there any difference between development softwares in the differents Operational Systems? I guess programing rules in one or another OS is the same thing too right? Thanx

They are really similar, Linux is (obviously) more stable.
Dev tools like jbuilder/eclipse/netbeans are available on both platforms. For a bit more of speed you should look at a mix of JSP, Servlets and Beans. Be aware that java eats up memory, you'll need a lot of RAM.

its Java.. Develop Once Run Anywhere...
hehe umm in my experience i prefer *nix environments. Java seems to run a lot smoother when it comes to GUIs and such. As for a server running JSP, *nix HANDS DOWN!!! STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS!!! I have tomcat running on XP w. Apache i honestly dont like the config and feel results take a lot of time.

Thanx guys but i have another easy question for you. Im choosing the development tool but ive asked around and some guys told me to try with JBuilder but one friend told me to do without JBuilder, he enjoy to program every line code and gave me a lot of reasons about why its better, what you guys think about?

You can start with Notepad or VI, and it can be good, but if you need PRODUCTIVITY, then you'll switch to JBuilder (or similar).
