Cookies to be addes to list and retrieved in a form

Hi guys,
I'm trying to create an "Add to favourite list" cookie option to be displayed next to every item in my website (about rental properties).
What I'd like to do is to have an icon or a text link wich saves the name of the property and the url in a cookie.
The user should be able to save as may properties as he wants with the ability to delete them whenever he wants.
He should'nt be able, if possible, to add a property twice.
There should also be a "view your save list" button wich shows his list.
Then these cookies should be in a form where the client ask for availability.

Is this impossible to do?

It looks to me that a kind of shopping cart in javascript should be what I'd really need but then it would come all the matters about calculation, shipping forms and so on.

I bet that a program as the one I'm looking for would be really apreciated by rental agencies, used car dealers...
Come on, is anyone able to help this dummy italian girl?
