filestructure with jsp

Hi, does anyone know of a good and effektive way of displaying a filestructure in jsp/php. Maybe an integrated ftp client is a solution, I know there are different components in java maid to handle this stuff, but is that the most sensible way to do it. The idea is that the user gets to navigate through directories, and download/upload in the same environment. I was hoping i'd manage this on a html plattform, so that the users wouldn't need an ftp client.
