Has anyone ever used the Mckoi database?
Just curious of what your experiences have been with this product if you've ever used it. Also, do you think it makes sense for a database to be written in Java, given the amount of overhead that Java adds and therefore the performance hit that may be incurred?
Thanks, Nick |

I had never heard of it before you posted. My inital guess is that in a high load environment it won't perform as well as a comparable RDMS written in C++, so I am very interested in seeing how well it does.

u may check pointbase db too. it's written in java and strongly supported by sun. company's founded by a former main developer of oracle. so i guess they know what they're doing. that's why i give it a serious try though i don't see the advantages this will bring. who knows?
cheers, jens |
