jakarta install
Am I reading this right? Jakarta installation requires me to download over 10 different packages from xml pack to lord knows what else....
tell me I'm wrong... |

Umm... what exactly are you wanting to install? The jakarta project includes a whole lot of different pieces of software. And no, you don't have to install all of them. What are you trying to do?

I found a binary that is precompiled already. That worked fine, apparently it comes with all the packages already built in. BTW, i just wanted to install tomcat.

The best way I have found to get the stuff you need is through the java web developer package avaliable at sun's java website. Comes with more then you will likely need already set up in a nice package ready to use from the moment it's unzipped. Only the web server hook up is left to the user.
