Java does not start on Vista laptop
I've uninstalled Java SE several times and can't get a page (Formula 1 timing on formula1.com) to work any longer. It still worked a few weeks ago and I have not changed anything on the laptop.
I've tried different settings, different browsers and haved deleted cache and old settings including uninstalling older versions of Java, left behind.
Any ideas how I can narrow this down?
Is there a possibility to revert to a previous version by downloading an installer from an archive?
Thanks.

Upgrade your laptop's OS to something better, like Windows XP.

Your only suggestion is to downgrade the entire operating system all because suddenly Java does not work?

Downgrade the operating system? I don't think so.
Anyway, there'll be a solution out there, but in my experience, Windows VISTA is the problem. You could try an OS that works, like Windows 7, or dual-boot it to a Linux variant, or get a pen drive bootable Linux for testing purposes.
