I believe that jre 1.6.0 is end of life.
I have jre 1.6.0 snd jre 7 on my machine
    Can I delete 1.6.0?

If yes, What is the best way of removing 1.6.0 from my pc?

What OS? If Windows, In WindowsXP , it'll be in Add/Remove Programs ...in Vista/Win7, it'll be in "Programs and Features". Haven't messed with Win8 yet, but, I assume its similar to Win7.

    Thanks for responding.

I assume you are suggesting that I can safely remove 1.6.0.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit.

In Programs and Features the only reference to Java that I can see is: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6.

No reference to 7 which is on the disk as well as 1.6.0.

    Advice please

yes, you can safely remove jre6 [1.6.0].
If you dont see a listing for java runtime 7 [1.7.0.xx] then it means you dont have it installed.

So, remove all instances that you see of Java in "programs and features"..then, go to java.com website and download install the newest jre and you should be good to go.

on a sidenote, this info can all be found by doing a simple google search.

    Best wishes.
