Navigation API

I'm trying to write my own interface for an in-dash touch screen infotainment center for my car. I have the API for spotify and pandora already. I've been designing those sections already and I am working on getting navigation now. I want turn by turn directions. I was hoping that there was a google maps turn by turn API but it appears there isn't one. Any ideas?
