need help with drop box returning a numeric value

Hi,

I'm very new to coding. I would like to have two drop boxes on a web page that gives a numeric value once the information from the two drop down boxes have been selected. I'm not trying to create multiply drop boxes once a value has been select from the first.

for example I have a drop down box for number of rooms 1 thru 6 and another drop down box with good, bad, average.
I want to be able to select room1 in one box and good in other box and it returns a numeric value. If any one has any sample codes or any suggesting that would be greatly appreciated.
