    noob linux apache/tomcat questions

    Hi all,

I've searched & even bought OReilly's Apache book. Found lots of talk relating to my questions, but no direct answers.

    1) On RH 7.3 box, I want to install Apache 2.x w/ php module, as well as Tomcat 4.x integrated w/ apache. OReilly's book doesn't even suggest using Tomcat with Apache 2.x, let alone w/ php too. HTTPS module required too. MySQL on same box, used by both PHP & Tomcat.

Is anyone doing this? If not, do you see a problem w/ it?

    2) other option is to use phpservlet. I've seen it mentioned, but never found where to get it. Does anyone know, and does anyone have feedback on how well it works?

    thanks a ton everyone.

    http://www.cymulacrum.net/tomcat/tomcat_mod_jk2.html

It's all in knowing what to search for. That doesn't cover php, but Tomcat and php won't stomp on eachother, so you shouldn't need to worry about it. Same with mod_ssl and MySQL.

Now, if you actually want to compile stuff yourself, then you're going to have to pass appropriate arguments to ./configure. I would suggest not going there, though.

I've never heard of phpservlet, no.

Post back here if you find any info on, it though. It sounds interesting.
