Saving files on client using java applet

Hi!
Is it possible to save a file on a client machine using an applet java?

I don't know what are security issues about that.

It's possible, but you have to get permission first .

Here's instructions on using RSA signed applets.

It says you have to get a Certificate from Thawte, but I think you can make your own. They aren't verified, but that's not always bad, and they should still work.

About creating your own Certs:
