Red face Setting Up a JSP Environment

A couple of months ago I set up tomcat4.0, SDK and I managed to get it working on port 8080 (default port), and now I want to connect it to apache usinf Jserv so I can run PHP, PERL, and JSP etc. When I went to download the latest version of Jserv it said that Jserv is no longer being worked on because it has been replaced by Jakarta Tomcat. I am confused esp when a older article found on this site "Slapping together a JSP environmenthttp://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/J...Dev/page1.html
explains uses old versions of apache, tomcat, and Jserv. The writer explains that the documentation on all of the packages is hard to follow and I agree.

    Here is my golden questions....

What do I need to get a JSP environment setup with Apache?
Are there new solutions since the above article?
Also what resources are out there to explain the process to me i.e tutorials, websites, forums etc?

In my search for documentation that paints the whole picture I have come up empty handed.

    Any Tips?

    Thanks,

    Paulblo

    Thanks

I am reading the article right now.

I have tomcat running on port 8080 but I can not seem to get tomcat connected to apache using mod_jk. The mod_jk.conf-auto
file that every article and documentation says is created every time you restart tomcat is not being made. Is there a config. I searched all over google for help and there is very little documentation on it. Any tips?
    Thank you,
