    Not understanding methods???

I need to be able to turn something like this into a method for a test coming up. Not exactly sure how to do that.

    ex.
compute 6x^2-2y^2 and show use of the method in the main method.

the test will have a diff problem so I need to understand whats goes into making a method

    thanks in advance

The two questions to ask are what input does the method need, and what output does it give?

    Hi,

the basics of Java (and object-oriented programming in general) can be found everywhere on the internet. Writing a method is pretty much the next step after your very first "Hello world", so just start up your Google and grab the next best tutorial. There are also books on Java.

I don't see the point of discussing things like this in a forum when the answer is just one click ahead. All you have to do is read it.

Why canít I use certain words like "drop" as part of my Security Question answers?
There are certain words used by hackers to try to gain access to systems and manipulate data; therefore, the following words are restricted: "select," "delete," "update," "insert," "drop" and "null".
