    how to update a tag?

    Hi All,

    I am running JDeveloper and is running into this error:

    Error(123):jsp:param is not a registered tag in that namespace.

    This is the line that it's complaining about:
    Code:
    <jsp:param name="projectShortName" value="<%= projectShortName %>"/>
    How can I register this tag? I suppose I am running JSP 1.1, so how can I get 1.2?

    Many Thanks!

    Hi Nemi,

    Thanks for replying!!

    The jsp is fairly long, but here is a section of it:
    Code:
    	} else if (request.getParameter("UpdateRequest") != null) {
    %>

    		<jsp:setProperty name="prodRequest" property="*"  />

    <%
    		Date date = new Date();
    		prodRequest.setProjectShortName(projectShortName);
    		prodRequest.setModifiedBy(request.getRemoteUser());
    		prodRequest.setModifiedDate(date);

    		try {
    			modifyProject(prodRequest); // prodRequest has all the info now
    %>
    		<jsp:forward page="/Am_ProdStatus.jsp" />
    			<jsp:param name="projectShortName" value="<%= projectShortName %>"/>
    			<jsp:param name="envType" value="<%= envType %>"/>
    		</jsp:forward>
    <%
    		} catch (DuplicateKeyException exc) {
    			exc.printStackTrace();
    			request.setAttribute("MsgCode", "3");
    %>
    I hope this helps. Basically I'm trying to forward a request to another page and pass 2 variables to that page.

    Thanks!

    Your problem probably because you are using the nested version of the forward tag, yet you close the tag in your opening tag. You have:
    Code:
    	<jsp:forward page="/Am_ProdStatus.jsp" />
    		<jsp:param name="projectShortName" value="<%= projectShortName %>"/>
    		<jsp:param name="envType" value="<%= envType %>"/>
    	</jsp:forward>
    And it should be:
    Code:
    	<jsp:forward page="/Am_ProdStatus.jsp" >
    		<jsp:param name="projectShortName" value="<%= projectShortName %>"/>
    		<jsp:param name="envType" value="<%= envType %>"/>
    	</jsp:forward>
    Notice the first forward tag. Change that and see if it doesn't help.
