    Hi dudes
    I facing sessions problem.

    I using oracle 8i application server .
    When i use the below method the server showing error like this
    -----------------------
    javax.servlet.http.HttpSession: method setMaxInactiveInterval(I)V not found
    at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.processRequest(JServConnection.java)
    at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.run(JServConnection.java)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:479)
    ---------------------------
    I using this method

    javax.servlet.http.HttpSession hs = req.getSession(true);
    hs.setMaxInactiveInterval(3600);//this method is not working in oracle 8i and 9i appliation server


    any body known this problem give it any idea or advise

    How odd.

    Can you call any other methods on the session? Try hs.getId();

    Hi

    Yes hs.getId() method is working .

    But

    hs.setMaxInactiveInterval(3600); this method is not working



    SO what can i do ...

    I need to increase session time period upto some time period using oracle 8i or 9i application server .So how can i incresse the time session period..

    Things you might check:

    What version of j2ee you have. I don't think HttpSession has changed, but it's possible your version doesn't have that method.

    See if you can get ahold of anyone at Oracle and ask them.

    Yes i also decided ,my oracle applicatiojn server(1.3 version) is not supported that method (servlet 2.1version).
    any way thanks alot for ur good kind of advise
