    Question JDK Install

    Please help. I've installed the SDK Version 4, but can't compile/interpret (i.e. javac) any of my .java files into class files. I've changed the PATH variable in the sysedit file to be able to run/compile from anywhere, no matter which directory I'm in.

    But now I can't do either. I've tried removing my PATH listing, but this hasn't done anything. Compiling programs try to access classes in other directories, then a "package classname does not exist" message pops up.

    Any ideas or advice? I've also tried reinstalling the SDK, but .... nada.

    What Operating system are you running?
    Windows: SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\jdk1.4.1\bin;

    I noticed that too. Under windows the previous JDK's set their correct classpath automaticaly. SDK version 1.4 doesn't seem to do that.
