Reading Data of a GPS Modul

    Heya

i wrote a small programm which connects via telnet to ttyO3 ( COM port). On this COM port i recieve GPS data in NMEA format and i dont know how to save the recieved endless Strings. Iam getting 5 Times per second a String from GPS. Shall i use some small Buffer and deleted them after filtering the information? how would you solve it?

    thanks for any help!

It depends on what do you want to do with the data that is received.
Parse the data and plot it on a graph to show your position.

I dont realy wanna parse the strings I just wanna refresh my position coordinates and satellite infos witch are sended by NMEA. So I wanna analys each string and refresh my variables like positionx and positiony.
I don't wanna save the received strings in any way

Thanks very much for your fast answer
