    I am not aware of any way that javascript can connect to a database.

    I connect to databases all the time using PHP.

    Javascript is of course Client Side and Php is Server Side. I wouldn't think there would be any reason for database connectivity being attached to Javascript...I am also sure there would be plenty of Security Issues if you were able to use Javascript in this manner.

    you can use server-side JScript, although this, i'm pretty sure, is only supported by iis. this is how you accomplish it anyways;

    <%@Language="JScript"%>
    <%
    var sqlbeg = "SELECT * FROM sbc WHERE disp = 'F00' AND rec_uid IS NULL";
    var aconn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection");
    var recset = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset");
    aconn.Open("DSN=ACUSQL_SBC;UID=sbc;PWD=sbc;");
    recset.Open(sqlbeg, aconn, 3, 3);
    %>

    you just change the dsn and other jive to that of your oracle db.
