    Cookies?? Perl or Javascript

Where is it best to place cookies? in perl or javascript.

Here's what im doing to help you determine how to answer this

I'm tracking new vs old visitors. track pages viewed, path, and exit.

    Track referrer.

My Plan... set cookies in javascript... use perl to read and gather info..

    What's your take??

If you're going to be processing the contents of the cookies with your perl script, you're probably better off doing it all there, rather than messing around in javascript too.

Think maintence later down the road... is the project big with many files... or just one script? You may choose your own preferences and keep it consistent.
Help me, help you, help others...
