    frames, javascript php what a mess!

    hi everybody

    I'm doing an internet project for uni. Basically I got this system to insert, delete and update bookmarks with the top frame being a nvagation panel and the botton one displaying the actual table.
    Now when i insert or delete a link i want the bottom to refresh and say that a new bookmark has been added or deleted, should I just use hidden input forms or is there a way to tell the page to automatically refresh using javascript or something else?

    any help is welcome

    cheers

    dave

    is the updating done from the top frame or the main one?
    are you updating a database or what?
    A form is probably the answer but I cant say without a bit more information

    the updating is done from the top frame where values are inputted into a form. These values are then inserted into a mySQL database or deleted from it but the bottom page which displays the data does not reload until you hit the refresh button

    how about something like this:
    In the <head>of the top frame
    PHP Code:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE=Javascript><!--
    function
    Submit(){
    document.form.submit();
    parent.mainframe.location.href='yourpage.php' ;
    }
    -->
    </script>
    And for the Submit button:
    PHP Code:
    <input type=button onClick="return Submit()"
    have added 'location' to the script as I think its necessary..
