Header image rotator with percentage width

I am gald the weekend is almost here, because I am tired of banging my head against a brick wall...

I use a fluid width template and would like to put an image rotator in the header with a width that scales along with the template. I have searched high and low but have not yet found any solution that works in FF and IE, does not throw errors in IE (as all the flash rotators I tried do, at least in the CMS I use: 'IE cannot open site, operation aborted') and can simply take a percentage width. I tried flash header rotators, image slide shows and even a script to change the background image of the div, but to no avail.

Does anyone have a suggestion? After the weekend I hope to find all your pointers to the good solutions I missed
