    javascript document.write problems

I am writing a page that has several functions,
but the problem is when i use the document.write function, the page i write has no access to the previous functions as basically the new page is created blank from the time i write it.

Now the thing is i cannot use the source= file.js in the script tags.

And I cannot use DHTML as this is to be used on PIE on the Pocket PC,

any ideas how i can use document.write, and also have them still access the previous functions?

    thanks

You pretty much identified the issue: document.write() is designed for 1) echoing input to the stream of an open document, or 2) writing to another document (frame, pop-up, e.g.). Calling it from an event handler is iffy at best...there might be a workaround, but more info (like about that DHTML restriction) would help.
