Javascript Form Submit

I have a contact form that validates upon submit and if all is OK posts the info to my email. No problem there, it works.

Any way to make an alert box come up AFTER it validates and is OK and is actually sending the info that says "Thank you for your comments. If requested we will contact you shortly."

If I do alert box on submit it says thanks and then gives the validation errors.
