    Lightbulb Javascript's Gory Details

I would love to learn the dirty details of the JavaScript scripting language. I want to know exactly what goes on under the hood in the guts of it. I've searched the web high and low to find some resources on it but found only generic tutorials on the language itself. Also, none of the bookstores around here carry any books that go into the language in any great detail. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find this information?

Take Market St. to US11. Make a left. Continue to the Harrisburg Expressway and get on it, heading east. Over the river, swing north on I-83; get off at Jonestown Rd. Turn right, go 2-33 miles (not sure) to Borders Books. Order double mocha; saunter nonchalantly over to 'Computers' section, pretend to be intently interested in C#, Linux, 'DHTML for Dummies', whatever. When you see thick book, green spine, O'Reilly logo, "Javascript:The Definitive Guide, 4th edition" - stop - you've arrived. Remove from shelf, eject bum from easy chair, sit, read, when "we're closing in 3 minutes" is announced - wonder where time went, buy book ($31.46), drive home reading on way. Next week: buy copy for bathroom. You're welcome.

Should I be worried that you know more about my area than I do?

I tried Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Waldenbooks already. None of them had it Borders carries it, but they've been out for quite some time now... I picked up my other O'Reilly books: Programming Perl and Perl Cookbook there, so I hope they get the other one in soon!

Anybody ever heard of Mapquest? Jeez...

Ctb - probably a big rush on it when the (delayed) 4th edition was shipped. If you're ever in the Bay Area, drop by, you can look at mine...otherwise, keep at it - it's worth the wait.
