    Why do people make some plugins for Jquery?

    For example why not simply use
    javascript Code:
    $(function()
    		{
    			var offset = $("#logo_place").offset();
    			$("html,body").animate({
    			    scrollTop: offset.top,
    			    scrollLeft: offset.left
    			});
    		});
    and instead make up my own?

    I see some unneccessary heavy plugins I am not sure they bother!

    The example you provided, is a very simple usage of jQuery; but there are times when it is so much easier to use a plugin, for cretin situations, rather than write a bunch of tedious/drawn out/meticulous/complicated code. Plugins fall under the same concept of jQuery; they make JavaScript so much simpler to apply for web developers. There are global built in plugins, known as APIs, in the jQuery library; so really the entire application of the framework relies on plugins. In general; jQuery and jQuery Plugins make your life as a web developer much simpler, when apply JavaScript to your webpages.
