    Since :select doesn't exist...

    Since :select doesn't exist, what selector syntax should I use to capture only select elements? :input grabs everything and jQuery supports things like :checkbox and :radio, but no :select.

    What's my way out here? Still researching but maybe someone here can get me an answer quicker...

    Thanks!

    Edit:
    To be more specific, I'm dealing with an ID that can either be a hidden field or a select box, and I want to add a listener to it only if it's a select box. So my gut instinct was #identifier:select, but that doesn't work and I'm not sure how else to accomplish that easily.

    Figured it out. Had to flip it around a bit.

    select[id=identifier]
