    opening a new window using javascript (not GET URL)

    here's the scoop. I have a flash menu / thumbnail system that opens the final page as an html page. I have a text link in the final html page to close the window but it requires the user to click ok on the warning that the browser pops up. I've read that if you open the new window with javascript, it won't prompt this warning. How do I do this in my flash movie. My final swf resides in an html page.

    Thanks

    You can try getURL()

    Code:
    getUrl("javascript:window.open(............)");

    aaah he said NOT GET URL.

    use FSCommand to call javascript functions in your html page from flash. look in your flash handbook, its explained there.

    I am assuming he said not getURL() because he thought it was only for links and did not know you could use it to execute JavaScript.
