    xml, graphics and javascript

    Hi there,

    I was wondering if its possible to represent the content of an xml file in color dynamically.

    For example :-

    <database>
    <application>
    <Windows>
    </application>
    <application>
    <Unix>
    </application>
    <MacOs>
    </application>
    </database>

    So in an xsl style sheet i would be able to display windows, Unix Mac Os next to a colored box to represent each. So each time i add an application a colored box is created for it. So u should end up with something like a "Key" for a graph lets say. Is that possible and if so how ?

    Cheers,

    What exactly do you mean by dynamically? With CSS you could easily give <application class="Unix" /> a color, and I'm xsl can do something similar.

    Dynamic....

    Hi there,

    Thanks for ur response. By dynamic i meant that each time the xml file is transformed the CSS or XSL style sheet will be able to detect any new nodes and thus giving each application a color or a graphic. Without having to specify it manually each time.

    You say it can be done by xsl .. can u please show me how ?

    Cheers,
