PHP-General - Zoom-in & Zoom-out functionality

Hey,

I am looking to create a website with new ideas and aspects for people to connect and socialise. However, one of my main functions I require is the ability to zoom-in with your mouse scroll and zoom-out again; similar to how the zoom works alongside google maps.

Can any one suggest what tools is best to use in order to create this zoom function?

I am a bit of noobie with this kind of thing, but would be nice to know what tools to use before i get started.

PHP operates on the server. What you need is something for the client side: Javascript.
