    javascript "opener" question

    Hi,

    I'm using a javascript to insert text into a <textarea>
    document.form1.message.value+=Addtxt;
    which works fine in IE & NS4.7

    I'm trying to create the same effect from a popup Window.
    opener.form1.message.value+=Addtxt;

    but this method doesn't work in Netscape (all versions).
    Is there an equivalent for Netscape?

    Cheers,
    Degs

    try this...

    I think the issue is the same as one I had a while ago - it worked fine in IE but Netscape is a little more exacting.

    Try this:

    window.opener.document.form1.message.value+=Addtxt;

    Netscape needs to have the 'window' and the 'document' in there.

    Hope that helps,

    Jen
