    Javascript talks to Flash


    Hi,

    I would like to know how I can use javascript to control the flash5 animation, I would like to have the function play(), rewind, stop() work.

    Why not have those buttons in the Flash themselves and use ActionScript to trigger the events.

    Hi,

    i must use javascript to control, since the flash is only part of the codes, i need to use javascript to control the playing/stoping of the movie

    You can have the controls in flash. Just use ActionScript.

    If you know flash, it's easy...

    This is my last post on the subject. The answer is I don't think you can do it using JavaScript, but I don't see how that has anything to do with controlling the flash. If you can display flash, you can display flash controls for the animation...seems easy to me...

    Actually, you can have Javascript send commands to flash if you install the FS Command Library:
