Brand new to LDAP

Hello,
I just started a new job last week and my boss has decided that I will be his expert on LDAP and SSL. Now, I have some knowledge of SSL from my collage days, but am totally unfamiliar with LDAP. I looked at the sticky at the top of the forum about LDAP resources, but hit information overload.
What I would like is a recommendation or two as to which books or publications would be a good place to start learning about this subject.

I have little information about LDAP server. It is used for user account management in you network. Internet is the best way to learn.

I am in a similar situation to you. Started a new job resently, and been told to work on LDAP.

My problem is that I am trying to get it working on windows....
theres not much useful help with this. I have errors all over the place and not much of an idea as to why.

If you find any good sources on installation and configuration please let me know
