OpenLDAP -- Berkeley DB troubles... HELP!
Hi, I'm trying to install OpenLDAP. I ran the configuration scripts and then make, soon find out that OpenLDAP requires Berkeley DB, which is not presently installed on my fresh Fedora instance.
REF 1: http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin22/install.html
So, I downloaded Berkeley, installed the dependencies "autoconf" and "libtool" as instructed before I proceed with the rest of the installation. That done. No sweat. But:
1. ../dist/configure (No problem)
2. make ---> error!! it ran for like 10 minutes and the following error message came out:
cc -o .libs/db_archive .libs/db_archive.o .libs/util_sig.o ./.libs/libdb-4.2.so -lpthread -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=execute true db_archive
./libtool: line 1: cd: /data/software/Berkeley: No such file or directory
cc: DB/db-4.2.52.NC/build_unix/.libs/22901-lt-db_archive: No such file or directory
REF 2: http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/ref/build_unix/intro.html
I have no idea how to get around this... HELP!

Afaik, OpenLDAP and BDB are both shipped with RedHat/Fedora. Yust install both with your packet-manager from your install cds.
! Note, that Fedora uses other paths than the normal BDB installation does. You have to consider searching for the database before you install a new one. The two installations would surely get into a conflict situation.
