telnet to ldap server?

hi, i'm trying to use OpenLDAP as an authentication server for OpenACS (running on aolserver4 with the nsldap.so module)
sorry, i had to change this thread because i have managed to connect via telnet to the ldap server. but does anyone know about nsldap (for aolserver)? the ldap server refuses connection through the module...
can anyone please help?
