111 MB Of Question Marks?

I used a Win9x box to burn to separate CDs. One of them has a folder that contains a copy of IE5.5. This CD works fine when I mount it in Red Hat 7.0.

The other CD was burned on the same box, it contains StarOffice 5.2 in 10 separate binary pieces plus some RPMs. However, when I mount this CD, the folder that holds the files appears named as ??????????????????????????? and it has unlimited subfolders all named the same. I'm actually using the exact same CD-RW drive to open the CDs as I did to burn them, because I had to install it on the other PC temporarily to do the burn. This is not the only CD I have that does this....

I couldn't find anything at all online... and my books don't mention this... what gives?

OK.. I still don't know what the %&#$* that was all about.. but I managed to yank the data off the CD, finally. I logged out and back in, so I suppose something got hosed when the stupid autolaunch occured when I plugged the CD...

But... as I tried to move the binaries (well.. copy them) from the cD to my home/ directory, the transfer kept stopping partway through on some of the files, and the first one wouldn't even start. When I used my DVD-ROM to read the CD instead, it transferred no problem...

I guess Red Hat 7.0 just doesn't like my CD-RW?
