Check your kernel output. If it's compiled in as a module use modprobe to insert it. Or recompile the kernel (hope you know how). Then all you gotta do is to get hooked up to the network.

DIG YOUR WAY!
Has the nic been detected? Can you bring up the interface? Does your ISP requires PPPoE? Or DHCP? Or using a static IP? Or? Any error message? ?? |

Connecting two hard drives should not be much harder than one- most likely your current hard drive has an extra connector that you can use and then all you need to do is designate one as master and other as slave (I'm assumming not RAID). If you buy PartitionMagic you can create a partition within the free space of your exisitng single-partition hard drive without loosing data. When you installed Linux, IIRC RedHat, it most likely asked you to setup a boot loader and all you need to do for another OS is add another entry with its partition and the name you want to call it.

You should had said that you know more about women (no matter how little) than computers.
![]() To understand Linux you must know your hardware first. What's in it and the inner working or interaction. If you look at the ribbon cable to connect your hdd you will see that it has 3 ends. One for the mobo and the 2 others (can't have more with ide but everybody has two channels (that's make 2x2=4! )) for hdd, cd, etc. The devices must be differentied somehow and I'll let this to you (hint: check the back of the device). It's very simple, just search google (not google linux althought that could help).Even worst, learn more about Windows. The layers are different but the overall structure is the same as with any OS. They call it "drivers", well call it modules or just support. They call it A:, we call it /dev/fd0. They call it a president, we call it a brain damaged wit. Sorry, had to. But seriously, explore your bios, windows and search when you don't know. What's a "Secondary master", well windows probably mentions that somewhere. Otherwise: google. However, you can learn a great deal by just exploring and experimenting, how did geeks do back then when there was no internet? |
