This is the same experience I have found with most Linux applications. It takes me around 2 hours to install one the first time and then 15 minutes the second time around. Still, Linux is the best operating system I have found. My trick is the RTHI. Read the F***ing INSTALL. # more /<app_directory>/INSTALL

And most of my Linux buddies tell me that it is better to upgrade the OS rather than upgrading the kernel. When you upgrade the kernel (which can be quite difficult) you still want to re-install your apps as they may work intermittently on a new kernel.

Just a thought.

We've had 3 different providers here in a year and a half...
(SE Detroit.)

Started with Ameritech, went to Excite@Home, and now Comcast. They must be getting around... WOW is knocking on our door soon, in the next month.
